Patterson Park Montessori LLC dba The New Century School is hiring for a full-time K-8 music teacher position.
Job Duties
- Prepare class materials to teach students basic music theory, aural skills, and practical music techniques using a variety of teaching methods (lectures, group discussion, demonstration, etc.) and instructional materials (PowerPoint, supplemental audio/video, etc.
- Teach students vocal music and/or specific instruments by arranging and editing music to fit teaching purpose.
- Establish and maintain standards of student behavior to provide an orderly, productive environment during practice, group rehearsals, and music performances.
- Differentiate music curriculum to meet the needs of the individual student and progress.
- Evaluate each student’s musical growth and contribution to the performance of the group that allows everyone to contribute. Provide feedback to the parents for the students’ music study.
- Participate in business events for marketing/student recruitment purposes.
- Work with other teachers by attending staff meetings in the delivery of the curriculum and contribute to the business’ Development Plan.
- This position teaches Pre-K, elementary, and middle school students, as defined by Maryland state law.
Job Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Music, Music Education, Education or related field.

$62,757-63,000 per year
