For our youngest students, the Preprimary Summer Program extends learning opportunities beyond the school year.

2026 Preprimary Summer Program Overview

Over the summer months, children ages 2 and 3 years old continue to build practical life skills, develop healthy self-esteem, nurture relationships and communication, and foster steps toward independence.

  • Registration: Registration is made through WooCommerce on the TNCS website. You may pay by credit card or FACTS. Payment plans are available when you register before March 20, 2026. Register here.
  • Tuition: Preprimary Summer Program—$435/wk; 4-day weeks prorated
  • Program Hours: 8:45 am—3:30 pm; half day option is available upon request
  • Add-On Options: Before Care from 7:30 am—$40/wk; After Care until 5:00 pm—$60/wk; After Care until 6:00 pm—$70/wk; Lunch—$40/wk; Diapering—$15/wk
  • Available Discounts: Discounts apply to tuition only
    • Preschool “11 Week” Discount: Register for all 11 weeks, and get one week free.
    • Early Bird: Register before March 20, 2026 and save $25/week.

FAQ: Preprimary Summer Program

Who is eligible to attend?

The Preprimary Summer Program is restricted to current and incoming TNCS students. In general, students must be at least two years old by the first day of their first session. However, a limited number of spaces are available for younger children. If you’re interested in one of these spaces, please email us at camps@thenewcenturyschool.com.

My child is three years old. Should I register for preprimary or primary?

If your child is enrolled in the TNCS Preprimary Program for the 2025–2026 school year, we recommend registering for the Preprimary Summer Program unless their teacher has recommended a transition to Primary Fun Camp. Please note that children enrolled in primary programs must be fully independent with toileting (using cloth underpants) and comfortable dressing themselves.

Can I register for a partial week or half-days?

Each session is one-week long and students must register for full week sessions. If your child typically attends half-days and you wish to continue on a half-day schedule for summer, please email us at camps@thenewcenturyschool.com.

What is the student teacher ratio?

Each classroom has a student/teacher ratio of 6:1.

Will my child have the same teachers as during the school year?

Lead teachers in our preschool program typically take a break during the summer months—often to participate in continuing education training and related activities—resulting in some differences in staff. We prioritize continuity by keeping familiar faces in the classroom and maintaining consistent routines to ensure a smooth and comfortable experience for your child.

Is there nap time?

Yes, the overall schedule is very similar to the academic year schedule. Please review Info for Registered Campers for what to bring.

What if my child wears diapers?

There is a mandatory diapering fee for students who do not continuously wear cloth underwear that includes eco-friendly diapers and wipes. Toilet training support is provided in this program.

Are snacks provided?

Yes, snacks are provided as part of this program. You may also register for lunch for an additional fee.

How does language learning work during the summer months?

In the summer program, students will have language exposure to English, Spanish, and Chinese instead of full immersion in one language.

Will the same students be in my child's class?

Class compositions may vary by week throughout the summer, depending on families’ plans. Incoming preprimary students are also eligible to enroll. However, many students from the school year attend a majority of weeks, providing a mix of familiar faces and new friends. We foster a welcoming and inclusive environment to help all students feel comfortable and build positive connections.

  • If you are registering more than one child, please check out then return to submit a separate registration.
  • Automated payment plans are available at checkout for registrations of $500 or more when paying by credit card. TNCS families are encouraged to pay via FACTS; to do so, please select Pay in Full at checkout and choose FACTS—a payment plan will then be applied via your FACTS account.
  • if your child typically attends half-days and you wish to continue on a half-day schedule for summer, please email us at camps@thenewcenturyschool.com.
  • There is no coupon code for multi-week discounts. If you are registering for all 11 weeks, your multi-week discount will be applied to your registration after it has been reviewed.

Prices reflect the Early Bird Discount, which is applied automatically through March 20, 2026.

Summer Camps & Programs: Terms & Conditions

Payment

All summer program registrations—except tuition for Camp Invention—are completed through the TNCS website. Payment may be made by credit card or FACTS (TNCS families only). You may pay in full or set up a monthly payment plan. Monthly payment plans are available through March 20, 2026. After March 20, 2026, payment in full is required at the time of registration. All payment plans must be completed by May 20, 2026.

Waitlists

When a camp reaches capacity, you may choose to add your child's name to an automated waitlist. Should a spot become available, we will contact families in the order in which requests were received.

TNCS Camp Cancellations

Camps must meet a minimum enrollment in order to run. If The New Century School cancels a session due to low enrollment or other reasons, families may choose to receive a full refund or transfer their child to another available session. TNCS strives to notify families as far in advance as possible if a session needs to be canceled.

Changes to Your Registration

Registration changes are handled on a case-by-case basis by request. We may not be able to accommodate all requests. Changes are subject to a $25 change fee.

Cancellations and Withdrawals

Cancellations and withdrawals made before May 20, 2026 are subject to a withdrawal fee of up to 50% of tuition; no refunds will be issued after May 20, 2026.

Additional Fees

After the start of camp, account holders (parents) agree to be billed for any additional expenses incurred (e.g., adding extended care, lunch).

Available Discounts

  • Preschool “All Summer” Discount: Register for all 11 weeks of preschool summer, and get one week free.
  • Early Bird: Register before March 20, 2026 and save $25/week.
  • Discounts apply to tuition only.

Additional Forms & Paperwork

K-8 Camps: Complete your camp forms on Transparent Classroom before May 20, 2026. These camps are administered under Maryland Youth Camp licensing.

Primary Fun Camp: For current and incoming TNCS students, forms are managed through Transparent Classroom. Non-TNCS students are required to submit additional paperwork via Transparent Classroom.

Preprimary Summer Program: Your forms and paperwork are managed through Transparent Classroom.

Both Primary Fun Camp and the Preprimary Summer Program are administered under TNCS's regular school year licensing through Maryland's Office of Child Care.

Admissions

The Preprimary Summer Program is restricted to current and incoming TNCS students. Learn more about admission to The New Century School.

Toilet Readiness

Diapering and/or toilet-training support are offered in this program. There is a mandatory diapering fee for students in diapers, and eco-friendly diapers and wipes are provided as part of the fee.
